Frequently Asked Questions
What happens if I have 2 adults and 3 or more children under 16 in my group?
  • If you have more children than adult drivers, your children can ride with our guides in a Side by Side ATV.  The price will
depend on which tour you decide on - look for the Passenger rate under the Side by Side ATV Price.

Will we see wildlife?
  • YES! But this is not a zoo so nothing is guaranteed
  • Moose, fox, porcupines, snowshoe hares, sheep, lynx, wolves, bears
  • Morning and late afternoon are typically best times
  • Longer tours offer better chances

Will I get wet or muddy?
  • For the most part, it's up to you or the driver of the ATV.  Most of the water and mud that we go through will not
splash up if you are driving at a slower speed.

I have my own ATV. Can I go on your tour with my ATV?
  • If you have your own ATVs, you can follow any and all of our tours at no cost. However, you must remain behind the
rear guide at all times. You are not officially part of the tour group and therefore, Denali ATV Adventures cannot be
held responsible for you (you have not watched the safety video or signed the liability form).
  • ATV followers should arrive at the appropriate launch sites, ready to go, 15 minutes prior to the tour departure time.
We can not pick you up.

When does the Train leave? Can I still go on tour and make it to the Train?
  • The Southbound train to Anchorage leaves the Train Depot in the National Park daily at 12:30 pm. The trip is about 8
    hours.
  • If you are going on the 9 AM Denali Wilderness Adventure and need to catch that train, we will drop you off at the station. Most
hotels do a bag collection for the train early in the morning on the day of the departure. If for some reason you have your bags, we
will most likely be able to store them.
  • The 9:40 AM Stampede Trail Adventure and the 11 AM Denali Wilderness Adventure will not get back in time.

  • The Northbound train to Fairbanks leaves the Train Depot in the National Park daily at 3:30pm. The trip is about 4
    hours.
  • The 9 AM Denali Wilderness Adventure and 11 AM Denali Wilderness Adventure will get back on time, the 1 PM Denali Wilderness
Adventure is probably cutting it too close. The 9:40 AM Stampede Trail Adventure will get back in time for the departure.

Is there a taxi in the area?
  • Denali Transportation – 907-227-0936 or 907-683-4765
  • Keys to Denali Rental Cars – 907-683-1239

Where can I rent bikes?
  • Denali Outdoor Center (Denali Canyon and Otto Lake locations) - 907-683-1925
  • Tesoro Gas station in Denali Canyon

Can I drive to the Otto Lake Launch site?
  • If you are staying at the Lakeview Inn, the Denali Outdoor Center Campground, and the Denali Park Hotel, you are
within walking distance to the launch site.
  • If you are staying in Healy, or you have your own car and want to drive to the launch site, please only park in
designated areas. Do not park blocking any homes, garages, the obstacle course, or the roadway itself.
  • You should arrive no more than 15 minutes early for their tour. Please meet at the "Check-In Here" sign on the side of
the building nearest the obstacle course. Please do not enter and red buildings, as they are all private residences.
  • A Guide will meet you at their tour time and show you the safety video (everyone else sees it in the bus/van).

Can I drive to the Stampede Launch Site?
  • Unfortunately no, there is no parking and we are unable to show the safety video. Even if you are staying at the Touch
of Wilderness B&B or the Earthsong Lodge, you will need to be picked up by our shuttle at either the USA Gas
Station/Miner's Market or our Sales Office.

Do you go out to the Stampede Bus/Magic Bus or can you help us get out there?
  • The Stampede Trail Adventure dour does not go out to the Stampede Bus. Furthermore, Denali ATV will not take
anyone to the Bus or advise anyone wishing to travel to the Bus. The journey to the Bus is very dangerous and Denali
ATV does not recommend hiking, biking, or ATVing there without the proper experience, training, survival skills and
gear, and knowledge of the area. The only safe way to visit the Bus is by chartering a helicopter. Please contact ERA
    Helicopters for more information.
